COURSE ON EAST AFRICAN COMMUNITY: ORGANS, INSTITUTIONS AND PROCEDURES.

Kituo Cha Katiba: The Eastern Africa Centre Constitutional Development (KcK) invites applications from the East African region for the above course. The 3- day course will be held from Wednesday 11 February to Friday 13 February 2015 at Protea Hotel Courtyard in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.  The objective of the course is to create awareness among different stakeholders on the East African integration processes and to develop their capacity to appreciate, engage in and contribute to the integration process. The course targets civil society, the private sector, parliamentarians at regional and national level, members of the judiciary, and other interested individuals.  It will enable participants to engage with practitioners in various fields from the region including the EAC, civil society, the private sector and relevant government ministries and institutions as course facilitators. The mode of delivery is participatory with adult teaching and learning. Certificates will be awarded. Course Content:The course focuses on the wider concept of integration; and the history and dynamics of EAC integration. It explores the mandates and practical procedures the different organs and institutions of the Community use in effecting their mandates including relations with civil society and the private sector.  The course, as a cross cutting issue, questions the role of the EAC in promoting constitutionalism, democracy and rule of law. Fee: $ 200 payable in advance.
